ER Trip

Why is it that when things seem to be working the way they should, a monkey wrench in your plan is just around the corner. For those of you who know me, it is just a day in the life… So at around 3pm my 5yr old comes to me and says mom my ear hurts, so I look into the ear and see a shiny green ball way up into the ear canal (freak out to begin) I ask what happened? She responds that she was lying on the floor and the ball fell into her ear (impossible) so we’ll go with that for now. As I try to figure out how I can pull out the ball which I now know is a bb pellet, I am having no luck trying to get it out. By this point Dad shows up and other attempts fail. Only option (hospital trip) off we go, Mom, Dad, Kid & BB pellet in tow. So once there and all paper work completed, Doctors have examined and other attempts are made, ENT Specialist has evaluated we are told that we will need a transport to a pediatric hospital because that bb is logged past the point where the canal curves, so my baby will have to be sedated.  Again (freak out), so now after all has been said and done we were discharged and on our way home, with bb in ear still waiting for the Pediatric specialist in the morning.  By this point I have missed class, will be missing another class today and little Miss Sophia is missing school; all in all great story for us to tell her one day.

Oh, by the way she finally fessed up on how the bb got into her ear, she wanted to see if it fit, guess what baby cakes, it fits.
